Accessibility Statement
Updated January 11, 2025
Our Goal
We at Access Designs LLC strive to make our website user-friendly and accessible to people of all abilities. To ensure a positive experience for everyone, we adhere to the WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) 2.1 and 2.2. These guidelines are the main international standards and outline how to make web content accessible.
The guidelines outline three levels of accessibility; Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. Access Designs LLC targets Level AA whenever possible for our website and products. Our Level AA accessibility compliance allows for assistive technology such as plugins, screen readers, braille displays, and browser extensions to be used by individuals to add additional functionality of their choosing.
Conformance Status
This website aims to conform with WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
Accessibility Efforts & Disclaimer
We're committed to continually improving the accessibility of our website and services. This dedication stems from the belief that fostering a seamless, inclusive, and barrier-free experience for individuals with disabilities is a collective ethical responsibility. We have completed a full website audit and remediated all issues in our control.
We Have compiled a list of issues due to the backend coding of our website host that is out of our control. Those issues have been sent to the appropriate company and are noted below for your reference.
Accessibility Issues
Main blog post images do not have alt text input available. They are set as links so duplicate links will be read when you tab/click the image and the blog post title. We have worked around this by creating and using only images of text, with the blog post title. The images are links with the alt text reading the blog post title.
Background images in Squarespace at the time of the most recent audit do not have an alt text option and do not appear to be marked as decorative on the backend. Due to this we use background images sparingly.
Depending on the assistive technology you use some form fields may not be accessible due to errors in the field set and form labels. We find issues with these fields using Zoomtext but NVDA seems to correctly identify each field.
We have an image of our logo in the footer of our order confirmation emails. Squarespace email campaigns currently do not have an alt text input for this element
We consistently work towards improving the accessibility of every page and material on our website. It's worth noting that certain content may not have fully met accessibility standards yet. This could be because we're still in the process of identifying the most effective solutions to enhance the user experience.
Third-Party Content & Functionality
We sometimes utilize third-party resources to embed content on our website, and we'll strive to ensure their conformity whenever achievable.
